Find Out All About Our Hong Kong-Inspired Pampering Session

The Labels and Lacquer girls would have walked into every single storefront in Hong Kong if we could have. There’s so much shopping to be done in this city, which is a major reason why those who (like us) are fashion/beauty obsessed would want to visit.

While walking around Central one day, the Hong Kong-version of Ulta, named Sasa (how funny), caught our eye, and we spent some time looking through some pretty incredible Chinese beauty products.

It was overwhelming in there, and with so many options we weren’t exactly sure what we wanted to buy, but we haaad to get something.

We’re always into a good pampering session (especially after such a long flight), so we headed over to the section of the store where you could find all sorts of facials. We’re talking ones that look like you’re wearing an animal mask and so much more.

Here’s what we ultimately purchased:

Latte Face Mask

I chose to get a face mask sheet that used real milk foam to exfoliate and brighten your skin. It was said to make your face “twinkle,” which sounded nice. Plus, with as much as I love dairy, I didn’t see anything wrong with adding it to my beauty routine.

All you had to do was put this cloth-like sheet with cut-outs for your mouth and nose on for a few minutes. I also massaged it a little while it was on my face so that I could get the full effect of the milk bubbles. It was extremely frothy, but didn’t feel funny on my skin.

After removing it and rinsing, my skin did feel nice and smooth. So, I’d say this mask did exactly what it was supposed to do, and even if it hadn’t— it was fun to try something new.

Chocolate Face Mask

I was torn between also getting the latte face mask or trying this chocolate one! I ended up getting the chocolate one so we could both try something new and because, well, chocolate. Do I really need to say more? I was not disappointed with my pampering sesh purchase.

My face mask sheet was actually brown. As soon as I pulled it out of the package I could smell the chocolate scent. Yum! I'll take chocolate anyway I can get it!

My sheet was the same shape as Augusta's, it had the same cutouts and everything. I put the mask on and rubbed it and bubbles appeared. It started to bubble and release more of the chocolate scent.

After rinsing my skin, my face was super soft and smooth. I loved getting to try a little Chinese beauty care while we were here. I want to load up on more masks to bring home with me, so we can always have a little latte and chocolate spa night!
