The Summer Staples: Bandanas & Stripes

Darby and I are super into the idea of pairing a striped top with a bandana lately because it’s so summery and chic. Striped tops are such classic pieces to have in your wardrobe because they can be dressed up or dressed down. Versatility is important, you know?

Bandanas are more of a Southern staple, so, of course, they’re something we hold near and dear to our hearts. But, if you’re not into your typical bright red bandana style, you don’t have to shop ones with a paisley print. You’ll see in my OOTD below that there are cute scarfs with fun prints that give the same effect without being a complete southern classic, if you know what I mean.

But, then again, you'll see Darby demonstrate that just because you're wearing a bandana doesn't mean you have to look like you're going to a honky tonk. It can be totally reinvented and modern when styled just the right way.

These distressed jeans with fringed bottom are everything . They're laid-back, but SO fashionable, so you're definitely going to want to get yourself a pair of these this summer.

I just have selfies to document this look. But I will post my full outfit details below. I decided to pair my red bandana with stripes too and with red lipstick to make the bandana really pop. This summer staple can be sporty chic too.

This is a classic bandana. It is super easy to find and to wear in multiple ways.

This striped top is so simple and it just screams effortlessly chic. This needs to be in your summer staple wardrobe.

I love the idea of mixing prints. Stripes, polka dots, and the bandana paisley print, it just works!

And to end the look on a sporty note, I paired everything with my Huarache Nikes.
