The One Product You Need To Add To Your Skincare Routine, Stat

To say that our lives have been stressful as of late is a major understatement, and we know that’s true for the rest of you, too. Stress is definitely not kind to your skin, and since it’s easier to combat what stress can do than eliminate it from your life entirely (although, if you figure out how to do that — let us know!), we’ve recently discovered an item that works wonders for our aggravated skin.

Blemishes and acne spots tend to pop up when things get a little more hectic than normal, so we started researching what we could do to get rid of those problem areas once and for all.

We discovered a typical household item — one you might not ever have thought to put on your face — will now actually be your new favorite skincare item. Apple cider vinegar, yes, vinegar has been really clearing up our skin!

According to MindBodyGreen, “Apple cider vinegar is so great for curing acne because it returns the acidity to our skin and restores that acid mantle. It also kills bacteria, removes excess dirt, oil and makeup and dissolves dead skin cells.”

And through using ACV on a cotton swab after cleansing every night for about a month now, I can say first-hand that I’ve found these claims to be true. And I think my sister would agree!

Of course, you can just buy apple cider vinegar on its own, but Amazon also offers the chance to shop it with a clay mask for double the goodness for your face!

While the vinegar isn’t a “miracle cure” that works overnight, it really does seem to be making my skin look healthier over time. Raised red bumps have gone down, and it seems to be preventing more from coming up in their place.

So, considering my stress levels (or my sister’s) haven’t gone down, but my blemishes are becoming less obvious — I’d say the vinegar thing really is working.

MindBodyGreen recommends using this the same way you would a toner, 1-2 times a day. I’ve been using it on a cotton swab to go over my entire face after washing my face at night.

Like I said, the results might not be instant, but after about a week, they certainly will be noticeable.

You can also rack up on products that are infused with vinegar, in case you just can't get enough of this ingredient.

We hope you find this trick as helpful as we have! Add vinegar to your skincare routine — if it works for you the way it has worked for us, you surely won’t regret it!

P.S. de-stressing is easier said than done for sure, but if you'd like to take a little "you time" with an at-home facial, check out the best face masks for a little rest & relaxation.
