This Red Lipstick Works To Empower Women & We're Here For It
Actress Reese Witherspoon has made a career out of proving women can be anything they want to be. From proving that Elle Woods had what it took to become a lawyer to her recent role in "Big Little Lies" that brings awareness to domestic violence and the resilience of women — this actress is a huge advocate for women's empowerment.
She's also recently been at the forefront of the Time's Up campaign, and her willingness to speak out about these important issues have been major. Well, now — she's here to show that red lipstick can be even more fierce than ever before.
Witherspoon teamed up with Elizabeth Arden to create lipstick for a cause! The classic red lipstick's tube is signed by the actress herself, and all proceeds from the lippie sales go directly to UN Women.
On top of donating the proceeds to the UN Women foundation, Elizabeth Arden has also promised to donate $1 million to the cause, according to a press release. According to the official website, the UN Women foundation is "dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. A global champion for women and girls, UN Women was established to accelerate progress on meeting their needs worldwide." So, yeah — it's definitely an organization worth supporting!
The campaign is called "March On" and supports the forward advancement of women. Can we get an amen?! In a video advertising the campaign, Witherspoon says, "Never underestimate the power of the right lipstick." And it's hard to deny how a red lipstick can completely up your confidence level — especially when it's for such a good cause!
March is Women's History Month, so there's no better time to support females around the world. You can pick up a tube of the lipstick for $26.50 — but remember, all of that goes to support our fellow women.
